Terms and Conditions of Use for Roadside Handyman

Effective Date: 22 April 2025

  1. Introduction Welcome to Roadside Handyman (“the Platform”), operated by TrueAnchor Foundation, a registered company in South Africa. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Platform. By using this website, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms in full. If you disagree with these terms or any part of these terms, you must not use the Platform.
  2. Nature of the Platform Roadside Handyman is a digital platform that allows unemployed trade workers (“Workers”) to create listings showcasing their skills and availability. Public users (“Clients”) can browse these listings and contact Workers directly. Roadside Handyman does not employ or contract the Workers, nor does it oversee or control their activities. We act solely as a facilitator to connect parties.
  3. Accuracy of Worker Information Roadside Handyman does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the information provided in Worker profiles. While we may provide tools for Workers to input information and upload documentation, we do not verify or warrant the truthfulness or currency of any listing. Clients must perform their own due diligence before engaging any Worker.
  4. Safety Disclaimer Clients are solely responsible for exercising caution and ensuring their own safety when meeting, hiring, or receiving services from any Worker. Roadside Handyman strongly advises Clients to:
  • Conduct interviews before hiring;
  • Meet in public or supervised places for initial meetings;
  • Use secure communication channels and request identification where appropriate.
  1. Screening and Vetting While Roadside Handyman may offer optional worker screening services, these are limited in scope and do not constitute a comprehensive background check. Any badge, label, or marker applied to a profile does not imply endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any kind.
  2. Workmanship and Quality Roadside Handyman makes no warranty regarding the workmanship, skill level, or reliability of any Worker listed on the Platform. Any agreement, payment, or dispute resolution regarding services rendered is strictly between the Worker and the Client. Roadside Handyman will not be liable for any damages, losses, or injuries arising from the use of such services.
  3. Use of the Platform Users agree not to:
  • Provide false information or impersonate another individual;
  • Post content that is defamatory, abusive, or discriminatory;
  • Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorised purpose;
  • Engage in activities that may damage or impair the Platform.
  1. Account Creation and Responsibility Users who register as Workers must provide accurate and truthful information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials. Public users creating accounts to access premium features or make payments must do the same.
  2. Fees and Monetisation Access to certain features of the Platform may be subject to payment, including profile unlocking, subscription plans, or advertising. Roadside Handyman reserves the right to modify pricing and access terms with reasonable notice.
  3. Limitations of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Roadside Handyman shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from:
  • Use or inability to use the Platform;
  • Engagement with any Worker;
  • Actions or omissions of any third party.
  1. Intellectual Property All Platform content, branding, graphics, and code remain the intellectual property of Roadside Handyman and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without express permission.
  2. Amendments to Terms We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via the Platform or email. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
  3. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
  4. Contact Us For any questions about these terms or our services, please contact us at: admin@roadsidehandyman.co.za

These Terms and Conditions serve to protect both the Workers, Clients and the Platform from legal liability while maintaining a fair and transparent relationship with all users.
